Look at these examples!

COMPARISONS (2 animals)

1) The elephant is BIGGER THAN the tiger. 

2) The tiger is MORE DANGEROUS THAN the cat.

COMPARATIVES SHORT ADJECTIVES 

ADJECTIVE + ER + THAN

1) Big =       Bigger than.

Example: A tiger is BIGGER THAN a mouse 

2) Small =    Smaller than

Example: A mouse is SMALLER THAN an elephant

COMPARATIVES LONG ADJECTIVES 

MORE + ADJECTIVE + THAN

1) Dangerous: MORE DANGEROUS THAN  

Example: The tiger is MORE DANGEROUS THAN a mouse 

Beautiful: MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN

I think ladybugs are MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN spiders

Superlatives ( 1 out of all the animals)

1) The elephant is THE BIGGEST 

2) The tiger is THE MOST DANGEROUS

SUPERLATIVES SHORT ADJECTIVES 

THE + ADJECTIVE + EST 

1) Rare = THE RAREST

Example: Tigers are one of THE RAREST of the big cats  

2) Small =    THE SMALLEST

Example: The mouse is one of THE SMALLEST animals

SUPERLATIVES LONG ADJECTIVES 

THE + MOST + ADJECTIVE 

1) Intelligent = The dolphin is one of the THE MOST INTELLIGENT animals.  

2) Interesting =  THE MOST INTERESTING 

Example: I think the elephant is one of THE MOST INTERESTING animals in the world.
